My opinion on the three programs I use:

e-Sword
Use: Personal study time, message preparation
Pros: Easiest to use, everything syncs at the same time (bibles, commentaries) easiest to use for definition lookup. Ability to highlight. Large library. Ability to Boolean Search, ability to wild card search
Cons: Extremely slow searches relative to other two programs listed. Slow bible (KJV/Strongs) opening, EVERYTHING IS NOT FREE (I just spent $40 for the Complete Word Study Dictionary) NO MAPS, takes 5 taps to get to 1Cor 1:18

OliveTree
Use: Bible study (attendee)
Pros: MAPS!! Fastest to get to a verse, 4 taps to get to 1Cor 1:18, ability to highlight, FAST search, ability to export search list, syncs all bible versions at once, stores purchases on their server
Cons: NOT EVERYTHING IS FREE (spent $19.95 for maps, $19.95 for KJV/Strongs at the time the ONLY bible program to have KJV/strongs), Can not perform Boolean search, Can not do a wild card search, limited library relative to other two programs

Laridian
Use: Message preparation, personal study time
Pros: FASTEST searchs, ability to perform Boolean searchs (even with Strongs numbers) ability to do wild card searches, large library, they store purchases on their server
Cons: VERY FEW FREE BIBLES, READER IS NOT FREE, NO MAPS, bible versions do not sync automatically, NOT INTUITIVE TO USE, CAN NOT HIGHLIGHT, 7 taps to get to 1Cor 1:18
