No, GSPlayer does not play wma files, but it does play ogg format which is in my opinion a lot better than wma - better sound quality at similar bitrates, and also open source format.
Yes, GSPlayer does have a screen shut-off feature.
It has many other nice features too like +/- 10 sec ff/rew that you can also assign to hardware buttons. I use it to listen to the daily CNET radio dispatch - the 10 sec skip is very handy to skip over stuff you're not interested in. (good for listening to news, audiobooks, etc)
