Shure the outcome will be an english X50v but the question is, will it work?
As I understand, the hardware devices for different languages are exactly the same and the new ROM overrides the old one. So it shoould work.
If I try and something goes wrong, is there a way back (Install backuped ROM from SD-Card)

Why don't you try you'll have your answer. The flashing program will allow you to backup the installed Rom, but won't allow you to flash an English Rom above a non-english Rom.
