Now THAT is wisdom, RobertCF ;-) .
However, I'd have to disagree. I beleive an upgrade will be offered for these reasons:
The Dell X50v isn't even in the same boat as the X3/X5 was, or even the x30, because it is a step into the future. That's what Dell intended it as.
1. It isn't near the end of its life.
2. It has a ton of potential that the other models (x3, x5) simply didn't have (even Dell wouldn't want that GFX processor to go to waste, or the VGA screens they flaunt, and the processor isn't going away for a while)
3. The upgrade isn't as useless as the WM2003SE upgrade. It would have been costly, programs wouldn't support it, it offered almost no functionality improvement, etc. The new upgrade offers functionality that Dell wouldn't have its ULTIMATE axim miss out on. :-)
Well, in retrospect... maybe you were right after all. Maybe they'll just put it in new X50v units. However, X50v and WM2005 simply have to go together.
And why can't PDA owners get updates from Microsoft directly? What happened to the age of "smart installations?"
