The way that the OS handles memory really can't be changed much. it is very important to keep as much mem free as possible by installing programs to cards or bis. the slider has a mind of its own and will adjust as necessary to run programs.
As far as the built in programs, the are in the OS and can only be removed on a short term basis. That being said, you can create files with the same name as the ones you are trying to get rid of on your desktop using notepad or really any text editor and then copy them to the same place as the one you want to get rid of. However this may cause problems if you do that to something that actually is needed by some program. Then you would have to do a hard reset to restore them. and of course anything that you have changed with this method woudl also be restored at that time. Lots of people do this with the odyssey client program.
