I work for state government and had an Axim X5 for the past couple of years. I was very excited when my supervisor told me I could upgrade to an Axim x50v. From that day forth my experience with dell was absolutely a nightmare and still hasn't ended (almost a month after recieving my second replacement.) With the first one the screen seemed a bit quirky right out of the box, putting me through the alignment sequence several times (compared to my x5 which I may have aligned 10 times the whole 2 and a half years that I owned it I found this to be quirky.) To make a very long story short it got progressively worse and I tried literally everything (with boxwave (the clear ones screen protectors) without any at all etc etc.) Went through many hard resets and reinstalls of much software. The screen was bad. I called dell.........they sent me a new one. This one worked absolutely beautifully for about three days with screen protector without screen protector etc. Then alas, it started to do the same thing, but to an even greater extent! After many days dealing with cleaning, trying different configs, hard resets, etc. I am now on my second replacement and it is working absolutely perfectly! Have had the boxwave screen protector on it the whole time and no problems at all after 2 1/2 weeks. Love the x50v now that it doesn't make me feel retarded when I'm trying to input simple commands! The other guy was right when he was talking about the popping sound when you press the AX area of AXIM on the top. My first one definately seemed alot better for a while when I used this technique. I just wanted to share this story with you guys because if it were not for this site I would probably still be thinking I was crazy, and somehow trying to calibrate myself to a bad screen! It seems obvious to me from reading the posts on here and from my own nightmare experience with my first 2 x50v's that dell may have gotten ahold of some bad screens. Sorry for poor structure on this post but I was in a big hurry and at least wanted to share my story because I know how frustrating a bad screen can be!
