I am off on a round the world trip for a year starting in July.

I am taking an X50v with me and am likely going to get a CF GPS card however I am not sure what application would be most appropriate for me.

What I am trying to achieve is to keep a log of everywhere we go using the GPS but I want an app with good worldwide coverage to see where I am.

I also want to find a neat way to upload the GPS data to a website that plots my course as I travel so that friends and family back home can see where we are and what course we have taken.

We are going to North America, Central America, South America, Australasia, South East Asia, China and then back across Europe on our way home to the United Kingdom.

Does anyone have any tips on hardware and/or software that may be useful to me?

All I have found so far is Pocket Earth which I may be able to make some use of.

Also, I'd like a Pocket Streets type application but with wider coverage for when I am in places like South America or China.
