I don't know if this will help anyone out but I figured out what the problem was. Fist I cleared out all of the assigned ip addresses. I set it up so that it would grab an ip address from the server (the assigned one shouldn't have been a problem). Then I disabled odyssey and then I turned off wlan. After that I did a soft reboot and turned the axim on. When I turned it on I enabled WLAN and then enabled odyssey. The first few times I did this it grabbed a hex address. I cleared that and started again. Finally it grabbed an ip address that was usable. I had to go in and set the ip address so that they wouldn't go through our sonic wall. After that I check all of the settings and when online. I used the wxutility to ping and every thing checks out. It's just strange that it would work with a static address. I hope this helps someone else.
