OK, so it is impossible to get a screen shot of BetaPlayer actually showing the movie. Belevie me! Anyway, as to the new 4/3 feature in FairUse I did a movie twice, once with the 4/3 option and one without. The movie was the widescreen version of Garden State done at 400mb. I also used the "recomeded" output video size for both.
Regular widescreen version
360x296 - Recomended output video size
.190 Bits/Pixel
126:1 on the compression
4/3 option
520x216 - Recomended output video size
.180 Bits/Pixel
133:1 on the compression
So what does all that mean. All it does it crop the movie down to a 4/3 "window". So if I watch both movies the widescreen one still looks better. Not as in quality but as in I can see what I am suposed to be seeing. The 4/3 version did fill the screen (some black bars on the sides) but would cut people in half.
So I will be sticking with the normal way for now. Someday I will get this widescreen stuff figured out.
