You see the first image (the animated one) under where it says Monday, April 04, 2005 you see that line, then you see it again under the owner information area. That's the ones i'm trying to get rid of.

I'm not aware of any way to remove them, but you can hack the registry to change the color of the separator lines to something which matches your today screen close enough that they are not very noticable. This will only work if your today theme is fairly consistent in its coloring throughout.
If you have Tweaks2k2.net it has a routine in system colors where you can change this easily. I believe there are also some other utilities which will allow you to do this.
