What is the best way to transfer all my data from my palm to my ppc?

(If this is a heavily covered subject, please point me to the proper threads)

I'll be receiving my Axim x30h any day now and want to be able to get up and running as fast as possible. I am a long time Palm Pilot user and I have no experience with PPC so I'm lost.

Should I transfer from the Palm Pilot device to the Axim device directly or should I tranfer from the Palm Desktop to the Axim sync software?

1. The main concern is that I want to keep all my date book history and transfer it to the Axim. (Outlook?)

2. Address book data tranferred to PPC. (Outlook?)

3. Todo List, aka Task List (Outlook?)

4. etc.
