"ignore_my_docs" is a file that is created by the operating system when you save a file to the card and there is no folder named "My Documents" there. You can safely delete it, but unless you create a "My Documents" folder, it will reappear the next time you try to save a document to that card. The file is a system/read-only file, so you will have to use activesync>explore to find it and delete it.
I don't think the file has anything to do with the problems you are having reading the cards on the laptop, however.
