usually this is caused by a program you installed. try using the backup program built into the system. then yuo won't have to reinstall everything each time. then remove things you don't use and usually it seems to be 'today' plugins that cause problems. also if you do a hard reset which is the same as removing the battery till all of your programs, then use it for a day or so and see if it is still locking up then add one program at a time and see how it goes.
