I think you may be stuffed - I've not yet found anything that'll open CDR files, other than CorelDraw. I imagine that Freehand (Macromedia) might do, but that'd cost about as much as CorelDraw.
I use CorelDraw a lot and if the files aren't too big/numerous then you can email them to me and I'll convert them to pdf or something and send them back.
