Depends on you. I didn`t saw a big difference in stepping from 300 to 400 MHZ.
You said:"Primarily use the device for calendar, contacts, and notes." So i think you won`t see any big difference. Maybe a little more loading time here and another second more wenn openening a note but thats it. If you don`t use it for navigation or something more challenging for your processor you won`t "feel" a difference.
BUT why the heck you want to step back to another PDA with only 300 MHZ?
