I would imagine there will be one for the X50 series but probably at a upgrade price and not free. But if your system works, and the new one is really not all that impressive - and Dell keeps offering free new bug fixes for the current OS, why worry or fuss?

I don't believe any 'demands' have been made. Mobile OS's seem to be more frequently updated than home pc OS's.
As far as 'bug fixes', I

Are you insinuating that the maker of a product is NOT obligated to fix GLARING issues with said product?
I realize MS makes the OS, but MS does NOT sell an MS branded pocket pc. Dell IS responsible for 'bug fixes', and it would be a good business practice to offer upgrades to the OS when available to people that recently (no specific date in mind) purchase the product.
