Be warned that putting Linux on a pocket pc is A LOT more dangerous than installing it on your computer, as no real major companies support this and if it doesn't work right your pocket pc becomes a brick. ;) Plus there is very little software for Linux handhelds. The safest and best way to do this is to buy a Sharp Zaurus.
(There may not even be handheld linux distros for Axims, there are some for iPaqs but I wouldn't try that on an Axim, cause it is completely different hardware and almost certainly wouldn't work.)
