This may sound stupid, but if ROM is faster than RAM why are programs (applications) installed (by default) to RAM rather than to ROM?.
This is just an observation: I re-installed Avantgo to ROM (BIS) since I subscribe to a ton of channels and I would get "low memory" warnings from my Axim. I noticed a marked slow-down of Avantgo (displaying channel content etc.) running from ROM.
