Welcome to the club. Enjoy your new machine.
Can't help with the sync. Ever since I upgraded to the new Active Sync version, I get a "cannot connect" message about half the time. Annoying. I'm thinking of going back to the old version.
As far as the "extra" memory, it ain't a bug, it's a feature!!
The 400 version comes with 64MB of storage for your use. If you lose power, whatever is stored in this memory is lost. To see how much of the 64MB (actually 63.54MB) is available, go to Start, Settings, System tab, Memory and it will be broken down between Storage and Program.
The 400 also has 48MB of flash memory which contains the operating system. Lose power and it still retains this data. Because the OS doesn't use all 48MB of flash memory, you get about 22MB (OK, 21.24MB) to play with and store files! This shows up as "Built-in Storage".
When you add the SD card, you'll see "SD Card" listed.
When you load a program, answer "no" to the "load program to default directory?" question and you'll get a list of all the places you can load your programs (Built-in, SD Card, etc.).
I hope that clears it up a little.
And yes, the cradle rocks!
