I was one of the most recent posters with a fried motherboard. Check the top of this forum for the "lethal cradle poll". Dell sent me a new motherboard for my 5150 notebook and I installed it myself, but it was under warranty and I happen to be DCSE certified.

IMNSHO, you should report the issue to Dell anyway. They seem to be ignoring this very common and serious problem and the more times it's reported, the better chance we have of them doing something about it. I posted a thread in their forums about it, but it's been totally ignored by Dell's people.

Help spread the word!
