I've gotten the longest X50V standard 1100 mA battery life I've heard of when listening to audio books in WMA format using WMP 10. I set the processor power option to "power saving" (208 MHz), start WMP 10, then turn off the display. I'll get 5 1/2 to 6 hours before the "low battery warning" (set at 20%)comes on. And I can listen for about 7.5 hours before the AXIM shuts down because power is too low. I keep the master volume low, use headphones, and turn up the WMP volume. I don't know if that makes a difference.
I see that if I set the processor power to AUTO, the current speed goes as low as 104 MHZ. That still seems enough to play the audio book with no problems. I suppose I could get even more time from the battery at this speed.
However, using WiFi as others have posted, I'm lucky if I get 2.5 hours.
