I can sync notes in calander and contacts with AS3.8 so you have a solvable problem. All we need to do is find it :)
You should be able to enter notes to contacts/calander etc. only when you open the contact/calander item and select edit from the menu popup down the bottom left of the screen.
As to why they are not syncing from the PC I am not sure...
Have you guys read Frenchy's ActiveSync tutorial in the tutorials section? Can you follow that through and see what happens. Let us all know how you go.
