I didn't think there was a benefit to defragging SD cards until 3 months ago.
I use Sprite to backup my system every night to my SD card, and keep the last 7 backups.
You can imagine how defragged the card can get adding and deleting full backups every night.
Well, one night it stopped and there was a reading error message.
I submitted the issue to Sprite's tech support, and they told me the reason was because of a frag issue, and to get PM and defrag.
I thought to myself, "Yea, right."
I downloaded the trial, did a card read test which was OK.
I defragged it which ran fine.
The next backup ran fine. I bought the program.
I defrag once a week, and haven't had a problem since (crosses fingers).
Maybe there are times when defragging makes a difference.
I don't know for sure, but I'll continue doing it once a week.
