In essence, WM5 upgrade is a ROM upgrade.

Like what you did in A02 & A03 upgrade, upgrading procedure should be the same:
you download the upgrade program from their web site or get it from a CD,
and run the program to reflash the ROM. after that, the ROM becomes WM5.

Think of it as just a renaming :) from A02/A03 to WM5 A01.

as he explained his point was XP doesnt need to be fixed the way that 98 did. in much the same way, a car from 2005 does not need to undergo recalls that might affect a car from 1990. Different products entirely.

ROM on a PDA is the actual OS. ROM updates are patches for the current OS. An update to WM5 will be in the form of a ROM update. Updating from say A00-A03 will fix issues with the current version of WM, but updating to A04 (assuming thats when WM5 comes in) will completly change the OS.
