You've got a 2200mah battery. With that battery, if it's pretty depleted, the charging rate, plus run time power for the X50 alone will be 1.5A. Add to that the charging power for the 338, and if you start with both nearly depleted, you'll get close to 2A needed. If the converter can provide that power, you'll be ok.
On the other hand, if you start with both fully charged, you may be able to get away with as little as 650 mA.
It's not the cable, it's the power converter limits...
