Screen protector neither needed nor wanted

Scratches never were a problem during the 5 years or so that I use PDAs. I do not play many games, however my PDAs do get a lot of screen exercise in the input area because I enter everything using Graffiti 1/Block Recognizer, and take a lot of notes. Still, no scratches. The x50 is my third PDA. The first two were a Visor Deluxe and a Garmin iQue 3600. I tried a screen protector on the latter, once. I do not recall which brand it was. I remember that is was expensive.

It was horrible. First it was so hard to install that I gave up and lived with the small dust specks and air bubbles. But Clarity was reduced also and the thing had too much friction when entering Graffiti. When I tried to uninstall it it did not want to come off to the extent that I was concerned that the screen would be damaged.

BTW, I do not use a slip-on or hard case, either.

(OT: These just get in the way. When not in use the PDA is stored in its belt case. The loose fit and extra padding of that case keep the PDA safe. Taking the x50 out and getting it ready for action takes 5 - 7 seconds. This includes the 2 - 3 seconds needed for stylus removal, due to the poorly designed stylus and stylus silo on the x50. I can get the iQue out, on, and the stylus ready in 4 - 5 seconds.)
