I just installed Beta Player to my SD card. When I tried to play an avi file (recorded by my digital camera) it was choppy and skipped (for lack of a better term). I played the same file through media player on my laptop and it was smooth. What have I done wrong?

Side note: I installed it to my SD card, but I'm not 100% sure that's where I want it, as I only have one and have no CF card (yet). I'm completely paranoid to put anything in BIS. (What if I screw something up!!??) Can someone ease my fears?
