Yes, if you have a card reader, it is the best method. The reason it's the best method is not only is the transfer faster, but you are guaranteed the transfer is made. I'm sure some people on here can comment on trying to transfer a large 700 MB with ActiveSync only to have it fail halfway through requiring the whole process be started all over again. I simply suggested ActiveSync because it's free (comes with your Axim and no additional third-party programs are required).

Like yuethomas mentioned, Softick's Card Export II is a better alternative to ActiveSync if you don't have a card reader. However, you will have to pay for it though once the trial runs out.
