OMA is not that big of a deal to install. If your company has purchased Exchange 2003, then you already own OMA. To install it, your Exchange Admin needs only to re-run the setup for Exchange and add the component (Exchange Modile Services).

Once this is done you can configure ActiveSync to sync with a remote server by providing the HTTP URL and your username in its settings.

The only other thing you may want to do, is get an Encryption Certificate to enable SSL.

I use this all of the time. I find it very convenient to be able to sync my PDA wirelessly to Exchange.......
