Sync Help, Please
I am new here. I have read a ton of posts, etc. but I still am having issues. Your help would be appreciated.
First off, I have a Dell Axim X30 with the Bluetooth and Wifi.
For work, I have a Dell Latitude running Windows 2000 Professional or something. It has to do with the network that they have such an out of date operating system.
When I am at work, running off of the network, I can access my Outlook and sync with the server for the calendar, etc. But when the laptop is no longer connected to the server, those Outlook functions won't work (I get a Microseoft Exchange server cannot connect error).
My home computer runs Windows XP. I sync to it, too. But, when I sync on this computer, I can't sync my calendar or contacts (or email, etc). I am assuming it is because although Outlook is on this computer, it isn't connected to the same Exchange serveras work?
What I want to do is be able to sync my Axim at work, to get whatever needs to be up to date, and then come home and sync it to my home computer, and have the home computer be updated from the newest info on my PDA.
You'd think this would be an easy task? But i am having difficulties. Do I need to set up a proxy setting or something? I also want to mention that I connect the PDA to a wireless network at home. It took me 5 hours to have the 2 devices talk to each other through the firewall! I used the tutorial on setting it up and finally it worked (after entering the MAC addresses, etc to clear the firewall). So if I do need to set up a proxy server or create a new profile, is this going mess up my wireless capability? I still can not Sync via WiFi (despite the tutorials), but I figure that isn't my main problem!
Any help or advice you can give me would be appreciated.
