Can no longer sync Inbox items
After a few years of successful syncing with my PST file, I've begun getting an 'Attention required' message next to the Inbox item. When I click on the error, I get the following:
Information Type Not Synchronized
Items of one or more information types cannot be synchronized. Disconnect and reconnect your device.
To view all error messages and dialog boxes that require your input, you must connect to this computer via infrared or serial/USB cable.
FWIW, this is occurring when the PPC is in the cradle attached to my PC via a USB cable.
I recently upgraded to ActiveSync v3.8, but this was long before the sync problem began.
All of the search engine responses to this error mention corruption in the PST file. I ran ScanPST. Sure enough; it found and corrected a few pointer errors. Re-running ScanPST indicated no further problems with the PST file.
When I attempted to sync again, however, I got the same error. Running ScanPST again found errors again--almost as though the sync process is corrupting the PST file somehow.
The whole time, I'm not seeing any problems accessing the PST file within Outlook 2003. And syncing other items (Calendar, Favorites, Notes, and Tasks) works fine.
So at this point, I cannot sync my Inbox. Any suggestions on what to try next?
