In activesync have it sync your files .. There should have been a folder on your computer called something like Pocket_PC My Documents ...
Files in this folder is synced with your PDA .. So if you put the word/excel files in there you can access them from your computer or your PDA ...
And the DOT next to the thread name means its a thread you have posted in ...
