Good luck. I hope everything goes alright. Here is a question I hear many people ask everytime a new hurricane comes through town. "Why don't more people move, knowing that another one could destroy their home at any time?" You must live in fear of the next one coming. Of course, this is from people who have never lived in these areas.

Just goes with the territory. No snow or ice in winter.
People in California have earthquakes,wildfires and mud slides; MidWest has tornados; Washington State had Mt. St Helens.
No matter where you are, there is always something weather wise.
At least I feel fortunate that the Tampa Bay area dodged the bullet last year and with Dennis. In all my 50+ years in Florida, these have been the worst hurricane seasons so far. It's only July.
At least I got shutters last year and live in a non-flood zone.
