Hi .40,
It's been known for a while (it's even on Apple's support site) that if you ask iTunes to burn an m4p to Audio CD, it'll convert it to .aif in making the CD. The resulting CD can be imported back into iTunes as mp3, and isn't copy-protected. There's apparently some loss in fidelity in doing this, but I've not heard it in the contexts I use the music.
