Just fixed this Activesync error and wanted to make sure that there was a concise thread for future searchers. The error reads like this:

Information Type Not Synchronized
Items of one or more information types cannot be synchronized. Disconnect and reconnect your device.
To view all error messages and dialog boxes that require your input, you must connect to this computer via infrared or serial/USB cable.

I first tried Microsoft's solutions, found here:

They did not work for me. Jakerich's solution (found
here) DID work, though:

Activesync: On the Desktop, disable syncing whatever is causing the conflicts. Let it sync successfully. Disconned the Ax. Reboot the PC, Soft reset the Ax. Now open Activesync on the PC, reselect the items you deselected. Now put the Ax in the cradle. It should sync.
If that fails, take the Ax out of the cradle, open Activesync on the PC. Go to Options, Rules and select either "Always replace the item on my device," or "Always replace the item on this computer." Put the Ax in the cradle. Let it sync. Open Activesync on the desktop and go to Options, Rules, select "Leave the item unresolved."
On this second approach, the Always replace the item on my device will force an overwrite of whatever is in the Ax with whatever is on the PC. The Always replace the item on this computer will reverse that forcing. Pick whichever you think is accurate for you.

My problem was solved by the first part of that procedure. There is another couple of possible solutions I read about while researching this:

I think the error might be due to a corrupt PST file. Run the Detect &
Repair feature in Outlook on
your computer ( this option is available under the Help menu).
If that doesn't solve the problem, try running scanpst.exe to repair the PST
file... more information is available here ---
