Sorry I left you hanging. I made the first post during my lunch break and must have signed off about the same time you posted your last message. Was wildcat's suggestion helpful?

If you don't have a protector involved, and still haven't gotten past the alignment page, I suggest trying a soft reset and, if that doesn't work, then another hard reset.
