How do I access them and get back their icons, links, and names? Must I reload everything from the Pocket PC Companion CD?

if you hard reset then everything on your device will be gone, unless you have them installed on a storage card or bis. you dont have to reinstall everything from the cd, the entire os is stored in the rom.
