I finished the game a couple of months ago. I found that some of the newer patches caused problems with inventory, saves, and occasionally would cause me to get stuck in random places. I ended up going back to version 1.3, and it worked fine. The only draw-back is that the english translation is rough.
If you speak French, go with that version.
