TCPMP no longer supports AAC (or MPEG4 audio)

I just downloaded the latest TCPMP (formerly known at betaplayer) and most of my audio files no longer play (m4a files). Come to find out, the IP holders of the AAC algorithm asked TCPMP to remove support, and they did! My hand is forced, I can no longer use TCPMP as most of my audio library is in AAC format, and to convert to another format would reduce quality. But I so want to use TCPMP. Is there no recourse for me? How can I play AAC in TCPMP now?
