I've always wondered - what is the purpose of UBB code? Honestly. I understand message boards don't like a lot of certain html codes, and that's where ubb code tries to come into play. But, why not just allow only SPECIFIC html codes instead of a whole new array of different code.
And it's not even that different. Bold text in html is < b > and in ubb code it's [ b ] (sans spaces). That isn't efficient, it's just frustrating.
I'd understand if html code was more complicated, but it's not.
Unless I'm missing something here, I really don't see the advantage.
