Because of the crazy PC manufacturers, everyone relates POWER to the clock speed of a CPU. This is NOT accurate though. There are many other factors in the power/processing-ability of a CPU than just the MHz clock speed. Most of Apple's PowerPC processors are rated MUCH slower than any Intel processor. However, they still perform "close" to the same as an Intel. It's a difference in the architecture of the chip itself, mixed with other processors like the dedicated graphics processor. A system like the PSX has lots of different processors (graphics, sound, etc.) to take some of the load off of the main processor.
