Dr Divx works PERFECTLY!

Dr. Divx works PERFECTLY! I prefer a high fps rate to a larger image, and find that at 240x176 I can get a full 30fps WITH STEREO SOUND (I usually use 16khz sample rate in stereo...losing a little bit of extreme high end, but it still sounds quite nice, and in STEREO).

I created a profile for 240x176, 250kbps, progressive output, and mp3 audio at 40kbps stereo, 16khz sample rate.

I have the 300mhz Axim, but using the Speedstepper program to run the processor at 398mhz, the above settings on Dr Divx produces a file that looks like television (again, at 30fps with NO DROPPED FRAMES!) using Pocket MVP.

A little understanding of what video parameters do goes a LONG way! Read as much as you can about compressed video, how it works, the demands on processor power, and specifically about Divx files on PPC. You're only a couple of Google searches away from some very entertaining reading on the subject. And if it doesn't sound like interesting "light reading" to you, perhaps you shouldn't be fiddling with computer video, because it is still very much a tweaker's persuit. Even with a program such as Dr Divx, I have found that the odds of success are directly proportionate to the knowledge of the one creating the file!
