Believe it or not, some users would prefer a Palm OS smartphone to a WM2005 device. I know I would. As much as I appreciate the greater power of the Pocket PC environment, the Palm OS is more stable. I have to reset the Axim several times a week. I can't have that kind of instability with a phone or the same level of maintence headaches.
And, of course, there is still the issue of third party applications. I'm shocked that, after all this time, there still isn't a decent third-party version of Pocket Word, Excel, etc. The corresponding applications on the Palm are a lot stronger.
The Treo 650 is a hot seller for a number of reasons. May Treo users would have little interest in a Windows Mobile OS.
