Sprite restores everything that was in MAIN MEMORY only! It does nothing for software on a storage card or BIS. If the program files in these locations gets scrambled, you're stuck reinstalling.

i dont have problems with this though - there are cases when i had to restore a FULL backup (including Main memory, SD card, and BIS)...
but yes, there is some kind of glitch that would hold-up the restore process... so this is what i do (the most recent restore ive had was a couple of days back when i had to rollback to state before P+ 3.0):
- hard reset
- selective restore - only SD/CF card (from the File System directory in Sprite)
- selective restore - only BIS (from the Persistent Storage directory in Sprite)
- selective restore - only MAIN Memory (select everything Except File System for the SD card/CF card, and Persistent Storage)
- soft reset
- good as new

PS: there seems to be glitch in the Sprite Backup process - to backup the SD card, this would be considered as Persistent Storage/Memory... but when a Restore is to be performed, it wouldnt show-up in the Persistent Storage directory, but
inside the File System
