OCN5 also has region maps besides the seamless one you can load. The (L) version include the all the USA regions and Canada. The problem is there is no way to route from one region map to the next. You have to route from the start to a place that exists on both region maps. All region maps overlap by at least a state. You then have to change maps and route to your final destination. OCN4 had the MapExport tool that let you create custom maps. Unfortunately Navigon dropped support for it. I am sure OCN is working on a way around this. It would be nice if they had a Interstate and major highway map like some of the other products, but I think Navigon caught them with their pants down. For now you can either live with it or get a seamless map. Hopefully this is something they fix in version 6.
