The only problem with this suggestion is that the driver comes as an exe file (not a cab) that only works from the PC. You can copy it to the sd card but you'd need to find a PC to do the installation from. The other solution is to copy the essential files from the PPC's window directory to the sd and copy them back after the hard reset but you'd probably need to do a registry hack for them to work.
