Memtest is good (Star is making sense yet again!).

Spybot is not enough for spyware. The most effective one is SpySweeper, by Webroot. It's about 85% effective (I believe this was Cnet testing) versus about 40% on spybot. The Microsoft one is also effective. I would run both of those. Microsoft is completely free, Spysweeper has a 30 day trial.
