Hello Chaps-a curious related problem here. I have just got a Samsung D500 (kiiler phone, apart from not being able to turn off all the moronic tones) replacing my Siemens SL55 both on O2. The Siemens didn't have Bluetooth, so I had set my Axim X30 up to access the internet via GSM and a free dial-up ISP using infra-red. The whizz-bang Samsung has bluetooth, so I thought that I'd switch to that, so I set up a bluetooth GSM connection with exactly the same details as the infra-red connection. The phone is paired with the Axim and I have successfully sent contacts data to it from the Axim via bluetooth.
When PIE tries to access the internet, I get a connection, but no transfer of data, as if the ISP server is not receiving the password and so no connection to the internet and I get the message "The page you are looking for cannot be found".

Having read Martin's brilliant guide to setting up a GPRS connection, I thought that this sounded like a wizard wheeze (also a lot cheaper than a GSM timed connection)and that maybe this would circumvent my problem. Set up all worked, I liaised with the O2 data guys, who have been pretty helpful to date, the Axim connects to the phone via bluetooth, the GPRS icon appears to indicate a connection-AND same result-same message on the PIE.

I'm still in contact with the O2 guys, so if they are able to resolve the issue, I'll post an answer.

By the way, the old infrared/GSM settings with the dialup ISP still work with the D500.

Suggestions/solutions/much appreciated.

MY

PS
Just to check, I have just set up a GPRS connection using Martin's instructions, using the infrared connection, not bluetooth and the exact same settings as for the Bluetooth connection and with this there is no problem accessing the internet. Aaaagh!
