The memory applet is part of the main control panel. To create a shortcut to it you can create a simple text file and add the following to it:

Now rename the text file and change it's extension to "lnk" and copy it to the Start Menu.

Thanks for the reply. It didn't work, though. I created the file in notepad on my desktop. I saved as *.lnk.
Under 'encoding' in notepad, I left it as ANSI...should I have changed it to unicode or one of the other settings?
