I would get Mobile Phone Tools for the PC instead of the PPC. This way you can use outlook as the 'middle' piece. MPT for the PC also provides a bunch of additional tools for the RAZR to be able to work with ring tones, SMS etc...
You can use Bluetooth fot the RAZR, however the cable offers the advantage of charging the phone while it is connected. If you like to tinker, you may find the cable to be more useful. Check out the site

As for the cable you dont need anything fancy. It is a standard USB to mini-USB cable. The cable that came with my Blackberry, RAZR and portable hard drive are all interchangeable.
